About the Business

I'm Simon Atkins, a documentary wedding photographer based in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire.

I was one of the first UK photographers to develop this style of wedding photography back in late 1999/early 2000. At that point I had been working as a newspaper photojournalist and wanted to photograph a wedding as a story in photographs rather than the usual style of that time which involved setting up all the wedding photographs in rigid poses. There was at this time only a couple of other photographers in the country working in this way. At first I mixed some press work with weddings but within a year I was so busy with weddings I left press work behind for good.
