Approached by a wooded drive of nearly a mile long, nestling in the hills of Dartmoor lies Yarner, a private two hundred and fifty acre estate with magnificent views overlooking the Wray Valley andancient Yarner Wood. Yarner House was built in the 16th century as a Tudor hunting lodge; the castellations and extra wings were Victorian additions. The Yarner estate extends to just below the summit of Haytor, an imposing granite outcrop once visited by Queen Victoria and still enjoyed by many people.
