My name is Benjamin Toms and I’m a documentary wedding photographer. Although I live in the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury, Kent, I am privileged to work with brides and grooms from Kent, London and throughout the UK. I also photograph destination weddings all over the world.

I understand that choosing the right documentary wedding photographer is a big decision. How do you pick the right person? I saw a great quote in an article recently that said wedding photographers need, ‘The aesthetic of an artist, the reflexes of a sports shooter, the people skills of Oprah – and a big love for Love’. I couldn’t have said it better.

To me, wedding photography is about capturing the beauty and story of your wedding day as the moments – big and small – unfold in front of me. There is something about weddings… our defences are stripped away and we can be our true selves under the loving gaze of our friends and family. Emotions are heightened – joy, nerves and love all take centre stage – and I am profoundly aware of the honour and trust of being allowed to watch and document one of the most special days of your life.

Above all, I aim to provide incredible documentary wedding photography that’s hassle free. From our initial consultation (in person, over the phone or via Skype – whichever is easiest for you) to an engagement shoot or your wedding day itself, you can rely on me to be consistently excellent and to capture every beautiful detail of your wedding day from getting ready in the morning until the very last guests have left the dance floor.
