Admitting that something isn't working can be really hard to do, but sometimes it's also incredibly liberating. When I got married in Las Vegas and headed off on a road trip around California for our honeymoon, I knew I wasn't in love with my career anymore. As a Graphic Designer and Art Director for well over a decade, I'd travelled the world working on fashion, lifestyle and interiors shoots for big brands' editorial and commercial campaigns. But the challenge wasn't there any more and I wanted something different. I had long loved photography and having worked as an Art Director for many years had been immersed in it without realising how much knowledge had picked up.

My first dabbling in photography had actually begun years before, while at school, when I pinched my Dad's old fully manual film camera and started playing.
